Who Are We

Bhartiya Samaj, a non-profit charity established in June 2022 in Queensland, aims to foster a more inclusive Australia by promoting unity in diversity among migrants. Since 1995, the Bhartiya Samaj Charitable Trust has actively supported the South Asian community in New Zealand, addressing diverse needs regardless of language, religion, or social status. In Brisbane, our chapter continues these efforts by empowering individuals with knowledge, nurturing strong identities, and fostering community connections. Our focus includes assisting migrants in settling, building inclusive communities, and collaborating on joint ventures with other organizations.

Aims and objectives

To recognize and acknowledge the contribution of migrants, refugee and ethnic communities in the social and economic development of Queensland
To organize events of international level and repute to build inclusive communities in Queensland
To showcase the rich ethnic and indigenous culture, heritage, art, music and dance of diverse communities living in Queensland
To bring together ethnic communities and indigenous cultures to help address isolation, inequality and ongoing need as people struggle to cope with the impact of economic downturn
To support wellbeing for people in the community in an inclusive way
To improve equality of opportunities for artists and groups from the ethnic and indigenous backgrounds
To encourage artists and ethnic groups to spread awareness about their rich culture and traditions
