At Bhartiya Samaj Inc., community is at the core of everything we do.

We are excited to present a platform to recognise individuals, organisations, and groups who are positively influencing Queensland’s ethnic community with the Multicultural Awards 2026.

The only aspect for this initiative is Recognition. Other goals include celebrating the effect, inspiring participation, and creating a platform that accurately captures the richness, diversity, and spirit of our multicultural communities.

Why Recognition Matters

In Queensland, there are many people and organisations working behind the scenes to help those in need, foster relationships, and strengthen our communities.

These efforts remain unsung, even though the impact is huge.

This is where the Multicultural Awards 2026 come into the picture. It is designed to take these efforts to the forefront by recognising leadership, community work, and initiatives to promote our multicultural communities.

Recognising these efforts is not only important because it is the right thing to do, but it also serves as motivation for many to come forward and contribute positively to the community.

An Inclusive Platform for All Communities

The Multicultural Awards 2026 by Bhartiya Samaj is designed to be an inclusive platform for all culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

This is not just about any particular group, organisation, or community. It is about equal opportunities for individuals, groups, and organisations from all different cultural communities to be recognised and celebrated.

This is an initiative to recognise the efforts and contributions of individuals, groups, and organisations from all the diverse communities in Queensland.

The awards aim to recognise efforts and contributions to:

  • Strengthen community wellbeing
  • Supporting newly arrived communities
  • Encouraging dialogue and cultural exchanges
  • Delivering community programs
  • Creating a sense of belonging and connection

By expanding our scope, we can ensure that the recognition is representative, inclusive, and reflects actual impact.

Recognising Different Forms of Impact

Community impact is not measured solely by its scale. It comes in many different forms, both seen and unseen.

From grassroots beginnings to established groups, and from small acts of support to large-scale programs, they are all working to create stronger, more connected communities.

The Multicultural Awards 2026 recognise:

  • Individuals who inspire and uplift others
  • Community groups making a positive impact in their local areas
  • Organisations making a positive impact through their programs
  • Impact that brings people together, fosters unity, understanding, and collaboration

Nominations Are Now Open

Nominations for the Multicultural Awards 2026 are now open.

We not only encourage people to nominate themselves, but also to nominate those people who they believe are making a positive impact within their communities.

The people who are making a positive impact within our communities are often not those who will put themselves forward for an award. By nominating them, we put them in the spotlight where they deserve to be.

Encouraging Community Participation

Creating a platform that is representative, inclusive, and reflects actual impact is a collective responsibility.

As such, we encourage community leaders, organisations, and groups within Queensland to:

  • Share this opportunity within their communities
  • Encourage others to submit their nominations
  • Help identify people within their community who may not normally put themselves forward
  • Ensure that different voices within our community are included and recognised

Active participation will ensure a stronger, more connected community.

Looking Ahead

The Multicultural Awards 2026 is not just an acknowledgement process but also a step towards stronger, more inclusive, and connected communities.

Through this initiative, Bhartiya Samaj Inc., hopes to bring forth the stories of impact, leadership, and inspiration for continued contributions.

Together, we can create a platform where every story counts, every contribution is valued, and every community is represented.
