This recognition honours their contributions and inspires others to engage in meaningful community work.
Migrant Awards 2025 Nomination Guide
Bhartiya Samaj invites nominations for individuals and organisations that embody unity, leadership, and empowerment within the Australian community. If you know someone who has made a significant impact through volunteer work and community engagement, nominate them for one of the distinguished awards below.
Award Categories
- Multicultural Community Champion Award – Recognising individuals who promote cultural harmony and inclusivity.
- Community Organisation Award – Honouring organisations that have made significant contributions to social welfare.
- Community Leadership Award – Celebrating leaders who inspire and uplift their communities.
- Youth Leadership Award – Acknowledging young leaders committed to social change and community service.
- Business Excellence Award – Recognising business leaders who support migrant communities through innovation and employment opportunities.
- Disability Advocacy Award – Honouring those who champion the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities.
- Excellence in Sports Award – Highlighting athletes who have excelled in sports while representing their community with pride.
- Creative and Artistic Excellence Award – Celebrating outstanding achievements in arts and culture.
Key Dates for Nominations
Nominations Open: Monday, 3 March 2025, at 12:01 AM
Nominations Close: Monday, 2 June 2025, at 11:59 PM
Awards Ceremony: Sunday, 3 August 2025, from 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
The awards will be presented during the Bhartiya Samaj Empowering Migrants Expo on Sunday, 3 August 2025, in Queensland, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
Nomination Criteria and Conditions
To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, nominees must meet the following criteria:
- Voluntary Contributions: Achievements (except for the Business Excellence Award) must be based solely on voluntary work and not through any paid position.
- Residency Requirement: Nominees must be residents of Queensland and operate primarily within the state.
- One Category per Nominee: Candidates may apply for only one award category. If nominated in multiple categories, they must select one to proceed.
- Past Winners: Previous winners of the same category are ineligible for nomination for two years.
- Attendance and Participation: Award recipients must be available for photography, interviews, and are expected to attend the ceremony in person.
- Final Decision: The selection panel’s decision is final.
- Travel Support: Bhartiya Samaj does not guarantee travel allowances for award recipients attending the event.
- Submission Requirements: Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
How to Nominate
Nominators must complete the official nomination form and attach all relevant supporting documents. Submissions should be clear, legible, and adhere to the minimum and maximum document requirements.
